I have had discussions with Team Abanga and they tell me their source of funding won’t be contributions from the party but rather community mining . They say plots of mining lands will be allocated to the youth wing that will mine and money be given to the youth wing .

First of all , as a son of a miner who have mined for over 40 years I can tell you mining is no different from lottery . Its a very big gamble . And highly capital intensive. Those in the mining areas will attest to that fact . Majority of miners don’t even break even after years of mining. It’s mostly a lose till they make a hit on lands that proper prospecting were done . Soo will the Youth wing financing be placed on a gamble ?

Then why don’t we rather invest in mybet or superbet which is quick and fast. Today , to excavate a piece of mining land ,you don’t need less than 150,000 cedis and it usually take not less than 2 months to finish a concession unless maybe you work day and night to minimize the days which will also increase cost . Mining has never been a secure source of livelihood than to even be a secured source of financing.

Ask our Regional and constituency executives the ordeal they go through to even get a concession.
